Tony Belton

Tony is a Battersea councillor with 50+ years’ experience of the council. He was Leader of Wandsworth Council, Leader of the Opposition, Cabinet member for housing and planning, amongst other roles. He was appointed Chair of the the Planning Applications Committee in 2022. Tony is a member of the Police team battling crime, of Battersea Society and of Battersea Chess Club. He is concerned about the lack of affordable housing; and local levels of poverty – Tony has helped hundreds with personal problems, many housing related. Before retirement, Tony headed London Government’s largest computer installation. He is a local activist.
